About Dr. Patel
Bimal Patel, DO, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN at Women’s Health Care Center of Houston. She provides exceptional obstetric and gynecological care to women throughout Houston, Texas. With more than nine years of experience, Dr. Patel treats and manages complex women’s health issues, such as endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, Pap smears, hysterectomies, and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas, in 2005, Dr. Patel worked as a research assistant at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for two years. In 2007, she enrolled in the University of Texas Health Science Center’s medical program in Houston and graduated in 2011. She then began her OB/GYN residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, and was named intern of the year.
Dr. Patel is proud to deliver patient-centered care to the women of Houston, Texas, and its surrounding neighborhoods. In addition to her clinical experience, she has researched and given presentations on a variety of important women’s health topics, including urogynecology procedures, stage 4 endometrial cancer, neonatal birth injuries, and the effects of psychiatric medications in both pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Committed to continuing education and training, Dr. Patel is a member of the American Medical Association, the JPS OBGYN Quality Improvement Committee, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Fort Worth Obstetrics and Gynecology Society.
